The reason for the confusion is that in the past RN1 nurses were on the critical shortage list simplifying the end to end immigration process. Things sadly changed due to prolific system abuse. RN1 nurses were removed from the critical shortage list but that does not mean they are no longer needed. The need is as before, in fact even more so. RN1 nurses just have to go through more " hoops" than before when applying for immigration papers ( new work permit arrangements under the points system) to encourage the genuine applicants and discourage the system abusers, by way of a " two edge sword".
