UK to introduce points system

The United Kingdom will introduce a new system of immigration control with effect from September 2008. Routinely referred to as the 'points system' it is similar to the Australian procedure, where all new migrants will be rated on the type of job to be filled, qualifications and earnings. It also includes points for English language competence and the migrant's ability to support themselves and any dependents until they begin receiving their earned income.

Points system as a worker
Rather than being a barrier to entry this should be seen by candidates wanting to work in the UK as providing a degree of clarity. Visa applications made in conjunction with Overseas Angels will assure you have the necessary job waiting to make you eligible for entry. It also provides the worker with greater security once in the UK with specific requirements demanded of the employer. Points system as an employer
Organisations wishing to sponsor individuals under the new Points-Based System must meet all requirements in record-keeping, reporting, and compliance to ensure UK Border and Immigration Agency cooperation, as well as meeting tier-specific sponsorship duties.
