Dhrti from India

Dhrti and her husband Vijay, were working in OMAN, where she was a nurse and he was in medical sales. They had 3 children. They had been trying to come to the UK for a few years unsuccessfully as Dhrti had failed to find a placement to do what was then called Adaption, now called ONP, which is the conversion course to become a nurse in the UK. She contacted Overseas Angels and we found her a placement to initially come for 6 months as a senior carer, to gain UK exposure, to undergo induction training and then to proceed with the same employer to adaptation training.

She came without her family however we found a 3 bedroom cottage on the care home site that was in a bad condition and arranged with the employer to repair it and then brought the family over. The family arrived before her adaptation / ONP training and settled with her.

She gained her NMC pin. Overseas Angels did all the immigration side to bring her here to the UK as well as all the in country changes throughout the adaptation/ONP right until she became an RN1 nurse.

Her husband had support from us until he found work as a medical bio scientist and we also assisted the family to find a schools for the children and one is just starting university here in the UK.

Her husband also worked for us part time before securing his job. We had to do many immigration changes as per the requirements at the time and the final stage was the paper work when she got her full NMC pin as an RN1. She never left the employer and continues with them and is now in training for management, she is earning £26,000 per annum during management training having started as a senior carer and then adaptation nurse on around £6,000.

The family has moved to their own home and the lovely cottage is now used as staff accommodation for other overseas workers to start them out, and the family are seeking to buy.
